How to use it
- Add your business details once, then the client you are quoting.
- List the items and prices. Turn GST on or off for the whole quote.
- Set how many days the quote stays valid.
- Press Download PDF. When the client accepts, use the same details for the invoice.
Good to know
- The "valid until" date is worked out from the quote date and the number of days you set.
- A quotation shows no amount received or balance due, because nothing has been billed yet.
- Use the proforma invoice generator if the client needs a bill to pay in advance.
Questions
What is the difference between a quotation and a proforma invoice?
A quotation is an offer of price. A proforma invoice is a request for payment before delivery, often used for advance payment or customs. Neither is a tax invoice.
Can I make a quote without GST?
Yes. Untick "Add GST" and the quote shows plain prices, with an optional tax line if you want one.
Can I turn a quotation into an invoice?
Your business details and saved clients carry over, so re-entering the items is the only extra step. Open the invoice generator and add them.
